HYPNOSIS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is a completely safe and natural, yet altered, state of mind. In hypnosis your mind is singularly focused and alert. In the hypnotic state there is a feeling of the world fading away and retreating to a different, deeper part of you.
What is hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for therapeutic reasons. It is the soothing process of directing subconscious thought toward patterns of healthy living. Basically hypnotherapy is the method of opening up the subconscious mind. Once the subconscious mind is opened two things can occur: the removal of old, unhealthy thoughts and the replacement of them with new powerful, healthy thoughts. Hypnotherapy changes your life because it changes your mind.
Does hypnosis really work? Yes! The success rate is 93%.
Why does hypnosis work? Most people spend their entire lives not knowing why they are a particular way or why they can't lose weight or quit smoking with lasting effect. The problem is that they are attempting to change what is on the computer screen without reprogramming the hard drive. In other words, they are not getting to the source of the problem, their subconscious thought.
Who can be hypnotized? Anyone with over IQ of 70, have an open mind, the ability to concentrate, and the willingness to go into hypnosis can be hypnotized. The only people who cannot be hypnotized are those who are intoxicated or don't want to be hypnotized or having a fear of giving up control. Just remember that being hypnotized may not feel as you expect it to feel, but that does not mean that you are not in hypnosis.
Will I be under someone else's control? No. This is the most widespread myth about hypnosis. It may appear as if subjects in stage hypnosis are being controlled, but in reality they are just very relaxed and uninhibited, often selected for their exhibitionist tendencies and suggestibility. Nobody can be hypnotized against his or her will.
Will I be in control and aware of what is happening? Yes, all the time. You do not go 'out', 'under' or 'to sleep'. You are not unconscious. You are in an alternative state of consciousness with a very narrow focus of attention. You can hear everything that is being said. Nothing happens without your consent. You have absolute control. However, you are extremely relaxed. Ninety-nine per cent of people remember everything they or the therapist said during the session.
What does hypnosis feel like? Hypnosis is a peaceful state of stillness. The hypnotic state is pleasant; you feel mentally very calm and content, relaxed, focused and alert. It is a form of deep mental and physical relaxation.
Will I go to sleep? No. Hypnosis is not sleep. When you sleep, your conscious mind sleeps. In hypnosis your conscious mind is still functioning quietly in the background which is why 50%- 100% of those hypnotized hear and remember everything said to them during a session. The level of trance is dependent on the type of session.
Can I get stuck? No. Like coming out of a nap, you would eventually awaken on your own, only more refreshed.
Is hypnosis suitable for children? Yes, usually from about the age of six, provided they can understand what is being said, are intelligent and imaginative.
Will the therapist have to touch me? Some therapists will touch you on the wrist, shoulder, neck, or forehead to test whether you are properly relaxed or to assist you into a deeper state of hypnosis. They should seek your permission first.
* Could I be influenced to do anything against my will or nature?
* When I am in a trance can I be made to bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken?
* Will I say something private I've never told anyone?
No, you will not do anything that you do not think is acceptable. You cannot be 'made' to violate your own values or accepted patterns of behavior. You would either reject the suggestion or come out of the hypnotic state.

"I get great pleasure in helping people achieve their goals and live a happier and healthier life.
I love coaching people to lose weight, quit smoking, and rid themselves of unwanted habits. It gives me a great satisfaction
to see people become happier, build their confidence, and succeed in their business and personal life. My greatest joy is making
a difference in people’s lives and helping animals. If I were independently wealthy, I would dedicate my life to people in need,
and animals. If I were terminally ill, I wouldn’t waste all my money trying to buy a few more days. Instead, I would spend it
all for the charity. " - Megan
